During this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, some janitorial supplies like ice melt and other normally essential items may not be at the top of your commercial cleaning list but a reliable floor scrubber will always be.
There are three basic types of floor scrubbers. To decide which one is right for the task, consider the size of the area to be cleaned, how many obstacles are in the area, and of course your budget.
Here are three different types of floor scrubbers to consider:
Upright Scrubbers
Covering a cleaning path of between 12 t0 24 inches, these are ideal to clean up to 1200 square foot areas. The greatest advantage to these scrubbers is they very effective when cleaning congested areas like classrooms, offices, and restrooms.
Walk-behind Auto Scrubbers
These come in various sizes for cleaning path between 13 and 38 inches. They are best suited to cleaning large open areas between 1000 and 15,000 square feet.
Ride Automatic Scrubbers
These can be found in small to large sizes for cleaning paths between 20 and 45 inches. They are not suited for negotiating tight corners or reaching user low places. A ride automatic scrubber is suited for cleaning 15,000 ot0 150,000 square feet.
The advantage of a ride scrubber is that the operator can stand or sit on them, thus causing the least fatigue. When it comes to cleaning large spaces, they are most effective because their large slurry recovery tanks mean the operator doesn’t have to stop repeatedly to empty the tank.
One disadvantage to a ride automatic scrubber is that due to its large size, one is cannot be used in narrow spaces and under desks and other furniture.
