Find the Right Disinfectant Wipe to Defeat Covid19
The Center for Biocide Chemistries (CBC) has compiled a list of products that have been pre-approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. You can find the list here.
Persons receiving this information must make their own determination as to a product's suitability prior to use based on the product labeling … State regulations may vary. The CBC cannot make a determination of the effectiveness of a product in fighting pathogens like COVID-19. For questions related to the effectiveness of any product not listed below, please contact the manufacturer directly.
While states are slowly relaxing “stay in place” orders and allowing businesses to reopen, we are dedicated to providing top quality disinfectant wipes, in line with the national recommendations for germ killing effectiveness.
Some Important Reminders
“Natural” cleaners do NOT disinfect!
No matter what the self-proclaimed “experts” on YouTube say, natural cleansers like tea tree oil, or vodka do not disinfect. Though we are sure you already know this, it is vital all employees understand this as well.
What Will Disinfect?
There are only three readily available agents that truly disinfect. They are
· 10% Bleach
· 70% Isopropyl Alcohol
· 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
Except for wipes made from 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, the following step is vital when it comes to combating COVID19 - after cleaning a surface with a disinfectant wipe, you must let it sit for 4-10 minutes before wiping again with water.
This waiting time called “dwell time” allows the soliton to kill the germs. Once the cleaning solution has done its work, it leaves a sticky surface where new germs can land. By wiping the surface again with water, you get rid of that sticky residue.
